REQUIEM

I wrote a song for you my dear,
I hummed the tune close to your ear,
I had forgotten that you were not here.

It is for our night, when I’ll be yours.
The vows and kisses that will unite us.
I saw you dance when I become yours.

I need no church,
I need no bridesmaids.
I need no best men,
Nor the flowers.

I waited each day to pass,
To see you clamour in glee.
I waited each day to pass,
For the wedding day to be.

You arrived at last,  all in black
I wondered how handsome it must be.
Indeed, it was handsome enough,
But what about the clamour in glee?

I saw a box, and quailed towards
I saw flowers, rim round
I saw your men in their best way.
I saw the maids going away.

I shall sing the song for you my dear,
After all, it is our wedding day.
To unite us in all love and vows
Be it a Requiem in May.

A SCARLET SCAR

Red is scarlet
Colour of love, I thought.
Red is scar
Colour of blood.

Blue is serene
Colour of sky, I thought.
Blue is pain
Colour of clotted blood.

Stars at night
Harmony and twinkling, I thought.
Stars are symbols
To tell me you are drunk.

You held me tight
Passion in love, I thought
Just that the grip was

Around my  neck at last
